Joburg Wine Club brings golden city glamour to the vineyards

Over the past eight months, we have been working hard to nurture a growing community of passionate wine-lovers in Gauteng through the establishment of the Joburg Wine Club.

Since launching in November 2017, we’ve thrown a number of glitzy events in the City of Gold, taking the best of the Western Cape winelands with us on each occasion.

Wine tourism is a key component of the Joburg Wine Club’s mission. So as part of the club’s winter campaign, the club will bring Joburg to the Winelands to experience the region’s wine at source, where it tastes better and where visitors can meet the people behind the wine.

Between 18 and 22 July, the club will be hosting a group of six media and influencers for an unforgettable #JoburgLovesWine tour in partnership with WESGRO.

Throughout the week, we will be visiting our wine partners in all corners of the Western Cape with adventures scheduled for the Durbanville Wine Route, the Hemel-and-Aarde Valley, Wellington, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.

In true Joburg Wine Club form, the trip will culminate in a stylish soiree at the newly rebuilt Lanzerac Hotel on Saturday, 21 July. As usual, guests can expect the party to be a joyous celebration of food, wine and friendship. Along with our six esteemed guests from up north, we will also be extending invitations to media, influencers and wine industry professionals from Cape Town and surrounds.

To create further awareness about Joburg Wine Club’s mission to break down stereotypes and acquaint Johannesburg more intimately with the winelands (and vice versa), we will also be running a consumer competition. Through a simple online entry, two participants will stand the chance of winning an unforgettable winelands getaway of their own.

Although there can only be two lucky winners, this doesn’t mean everyone else will be missing out. We love putting making unique travel packages available to subscribers of the Joburg Wine Club. These packages are centred around the needs of our target audience and serve to showcase the very best of South African wine tourism.

We will be revealing more details about our guests, party theme and competition over the coming two weeks. Stay up to date by keeping an eye on our social media channels:
