Introducing the #JoburgLovesWine winter roadtrippers

Only one week to go till our #JoburgLovesWine and #discoverctwc winter road trip in partnership with Wesgro and we can hardly wait!

We’ve got an amazing itinerary lined up, taking us to all corners of the Western Cape Winelands. There will be spa treatments and vineyard tours, plenty of wine tasting and a wealth of delicious food.

Before we get into that, however, we’d like to introduce you to our six influencers who will be joining the journey:

Asanda Maku - Presenter, Producer, Actress

Asanda is a television personality and actress who first stepped out into the limelight as one of the original Hectic Nine-9 presenters. Over the years, she’s enjoyed a varied and illustrious career, ranging from television drama to sports presenting. Apart from being a formidable career woman, Asanda is also a dedicated mom to her and Khuli Chana’s little girl.

Kabelo Thathe - Cinematographer

While some may remember Kabelo as one of COSMO's Sexiest Men of 2015, you will most often find him behind the cameras. This is where he lives out his passion for crafting stories through his exceptional cinematography work.

We're so excited to have Kabelo on board with us for this trip and seeing the way he captures the winelands as an artist.

Ayanda Nhlapo – TV Host, Designer, Stylist

Ayanda is a fashion designer, stylist and host of her very own television show, Ayanda Inside Fashion (DStv Channel 190) every Monday at 18h55. The show goes in search of style secrets and discovers first-hand the inner workings of some of South Africa’s top fashion houses.

She recently launched her own clothing line called Ayanda and loves all things fashion.

Enock Predestine – Photographer and videographer, producer

With his incredible eye for detail and composition, Enock is making a name for himself as one of South Africa’s most talented young photographers. He’s especially sought-after in terms of portraiture and manages to capture the essence of personalities effortlessly.

His talents also extend to videography and production.

Sthandiwe Msomi – Actress and curator

Best known for her for her soapie roles as twins Zinzi and Zoleka Mudau on Generations (1999-2005) and as accountant Siyanda Mazibuko in Isidingo, from 2005-2009, Sthandiwe is certainly a household name to most South Africans.

Apart from her successful acting career, she also describes herself as a creative insomniac, as well as an activist for and curator of culture.

Thapelo Mokoena – Actor, presenter, filmmaker

Thapelo is an actor and television personality, who first gained popularity while hosting the first season of the local version of the reality competition Fear Factor, in 2006. Some of his other significant career highlights include playing Gabriel, Karabo Moraka’s (played by Connie Ferguson) bodyguard, on the SABC1 soapie Generations; Vusi in the drama series Mzansi and Bongani Thwala for the third season of the SABC1 drama series Mtunzini.com.

Most recently, he has teamed up with Sanlam to star in ‘The 200 Year Old’, a future-facing podcast series set in 2218.

Apart from these achievements, it’s hardly surprising that he is considered to be one of the most stylish men in South Africa, making a formidable fashion team with wife, Lesego Tshepang.
