Just a week to go till our #JoburgLovesWine party on Friday 31 August at Eyethu Lifestyle Centre in Soweto, and we’re counting down the days!
One of the things we love most about all our events, is the fact that our guests always dress to the nines. Joburg, we LOVE your style!
If you’re going to be joining us – and we really hope you are – you may have noticed that the dress code is ‘Weekend’.
And maybe you’re in a bit of a spin, because you’re not sure what it means.
Well, the great thing about this theme is the fact that it can mean something different to each guest. In all honesty, we can’t wait to see what you all wear.
For those still wondering about their party outfit, we thought to have a bit of fun and pair wines from our partners who will be there on the day with an array of ‘Weekend’ outfits worn by some our previous party guests and influencers we work with regularly.

Ensuring the blend is greater than the sum of its parts is the final challenge for any winemaker. Alto Rouge is an iconic blend that pays testament to the estate’s long line of highly skilled winemakers.
The way different elements are brought together - Cabernet Franc (28%) Shiraz (23%) Merlot (22%) Cabernet Sauvignon (21%) and Petit Verdot (6%) – are brought together and blend so perfectly, reminds us of the striking outfit Ayanda wore to our recent Royal Red event. She dressed her red culottes and polo neck jersey up with a pair of golden heels and eye-catching jewellery and rounded the look off with a gorgeous faux fur coat.

Just released, this wine shows guava, lime and minerality, just like the gorgeous green floral outfit Asanda wore to Constantia Fresh earlier this year.
Just like Avontuur’s Sauvignon Blanc, this outfit is a joyous celebration of life and on point for any occasion.

De Grendel’s MCC Brut is bright straw yellow in colour, with extremely fine streams of bubbles that carry wafts of biscuity richness to the nose. This reminds us of the gorgeous photo Enock Predestine snapped of S’thandiwe in a field of flowers during our recent winter winelands adventure. On this day, she wore a beautiful wrap dress, a pair of sneakers, some colourful earrings and a floral scarf. A lovely laid-back weekend look with on point style!

The winemaker describes the wine as the most “new world style of Sauvignon Blanc” he has made. “The wine has intense aromas of gooseberries, tropical fruit and sweet-grapefruit with a core of minerality” We think that exact description could easily apply to Twiggy’s sassy poolside look during last year’s Stellenblog campaign.

La Motte’s smooth and refined Syrah may seem rather serious at first, even with a touch of mystery. However, when you take the first sip, it brings a delightful burst of flavour that goes down well around a table with friends.
This reminds us of the Katlego and Sir Abner’s all black outfits at our Royal Red event recently. Both brought small elements of playfulness to their stately look – true style delight!

With its blend of zesty flavours and creamy finish, it’s no surprise that this Lourensford Estate Chardonnay has gathered numerous awards. With two Double Golds behind its name (Michelangelo and Vitis Vinifera), we couldn’t help but pair it up with the majestic metallic outfit Roxanne wore to our Winter Winelands party recently. She’ll also be appearing behind the decks as ROXCizzle at our upcoming event!

This lovely red blend by Plaisir de Merle combines Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. With red berries, sweet spicy notes and subtle vanilla, it offers a smooth finish to be enjoyed with any meal… or even on its own.
We think it pairs perfectly with Khanye’s chic plaid-and-polo-neck look for the Royal Red event.
