“I’ve been to Cape Town many times, but this time was different. It was absolutely amazing, you really created an experience.”
These are the words of Bongie Filtane, who recently set out on our Joburg Wine Club Three-Day Winelands Tour with her best friend, Lebogang Mokotedi.
Bongie and Lebogang enjoyed a jam-packed itinerary, including:
a two-night stay at the gorgeous Bonne Esperance Guest House
lunch and wine tasting at Diemersdal
a vineyard drive, flagship tasting and three-course dinner at De Grendel
full day of exploring Groot Constantia with lunch at Jonkershuis Restaurant
three-course wine- and food pairing at Creation Wines in the Hemel and Aarde Valley
“We had the best time of our lives and what made it more special was that it was our first trip together, even though we have been friends for years now,” said Bongie.
Each of the experiences received both Bongie and Lebogang’s stamp of approval, with the dinner and wine pairing at De Grendel as well as the day of exploring Groot Constantia being their itinerary highlights.
“At De Grendel, we received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. We also enjoyed the vineyard tour and the driver from Adventureshop was really passionate about the farm. Dinner and wine pairing was the highlight of our evening.”
As for their Groot Constantia adventure, the ladies said they loved feeling like tourists while doing the Visitors Route.
“The cellar tour at Groot Constantia and wine tasting was great. Lunch was really good and we enjoyed chilling outside with the spectacular views,” Bongie said.
Adventure Shop in Stellenbosch served as the transport partner for our trip, getting Bongie and Lebogang safely and comfortably from one destination to the next. “I would also like to compliment the service we got from Marius our driver. His work ethic is commendable,” Bongie said.
