When we started planning this year’s edition of our annual Summer Garden Party at Buitengeluk, we promised it would be our most beautiful yet.
Well, if you were there on Sunday – or followed the festivities via social media from a distance – we’re sure you’ll agree that it was an exquisite summer soiree.
Inspired by our romantic and ethereal midsummer dream theme, we went all out transforming the already gorgeous venue into an exquisite wonderland of floral delights. Images by Ken Khutso.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the help of our wonderful creative partners for the day. The talented Dominique Ronbeck from matter.design studio waved her magic wand, leaving an enchanted landscape of colourful floral arrangements in her wake.
Along with this, we had the ladies from Pick-a-Lily join us to create the most luscious flower crowns for our tribe of queens and kings.
As always, our guests didn’t disappoint in the style department. Every single attendee arrived dressed to the nines in their most ethereal, floaty and dapper summer looks. And what better way to show them off than by swaying to the smooth rhythm of DJ Housecatz’s sultry beats.

“It was such a treat to gather dear friends, new and old, to my heart and enjoy a day of fine wine, good music, food and laughter together,” says JWC’s Mariette du Toit-Helmbold.
“It gives us much joy to see strategies and dreams come to life. We’ve built a whole new tribe of wine lovers, not through PR, sponsorships and pretty pictures, but through friendship, trust and meaningful connections (and consistent, hard work I must add, because nothing worthwhile is easy). And now we’re family.”

It makes our hearts burst to see that our tribe enjoyed it just as much:
“Had so much [fun] at the Joburg Wine Club Summer Garden Party,” said Micarla Hart. “What’s more fun than wine, flowers and smooth sounds?”
Tstetse J called it “an epic floral affair” and added that Buitengeluk is the perfect venue for a Sunday social.
We loved that Noluthando Nkosi celebrated her 32nd birthday with us and shared so much colourful joy on her Instagram feed.
Our dear friend Bontle M enjoyed spending the day with some of her besties and said that “Joburg Wine Club never disappoints.”
Thank you to everyone who joined us! The Summer Garden Party wouldn’t have been half as beautiful without you.
