Earlier this year, we introduced you to our amazing Joburg Wine Club partners for 2019.
We really are so proud to have De Grendel, Durbanville Hills, Fleur du Cap, Groot Constantia and KWV on board.

One of the things we love most about this dynamic selection of estates, is the fact that they always have something exciting going on!
We love to keep you posted about their events and news, so here goes:

New Tasting Option at Durbanville Hills
Inspired by Cape Town’s radiant energy and creative demeanour, Durbanville Hills’ new premium offering - The Collector’s Reserve - is crafted using only the finest grapes from Cape Town’s best vineyards.
They identified Capetonian landmarks that could be linked to their wines and then commissioned a local artist, Theo Vorster to connect these landmarks to the range of wine and to reflect some of the character of the wine in the art work as well.
Enjoy a private cellar tour, a unique Collectors Reserve interactive experience, a food pairing with all seven Collectors Reserve wines as well as one bottle of Collectors Reserve to take home.

Fleur du Cap wins silver medal at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show
In a show of true flair, Fleur du Cap’s Series Privée Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 won an impressive silver medal at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show. This full-bodied wine offers concentrated aromas of black cherries and plum on the nose which translate into full and complex flavours of blackcurrant and mocha on the palate.

Groot Constantia scoops 12 prizes at South African Wine Index (SAWi) Awards
Groot Constantia has been rated as the Top Dessert Wine Producer in South Africa for their iconic Grand Constance. They have also been rated as a Top 10 Wine Producer as well as a Top 10 White Wine Producer. In addition to these accolades, the estate won six Platinum as well as three Grand Gold awards for their wines.
Platinum winners include the Groot Constantia Pinotage, Gouverneurs Reserve Red, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Gouverneurs Reserve White, and Grand Constance. The Grand Gold winners are the Groot Constantia Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cape Ruby wines. The South African Wine Index was established with the aim of independently identifying South Africa’s best wines - ‘South African Grand Wines’. “The South African Wine Index base their decisions on national and international wine show results over a period of 10 years,” says Boela Gerber, winemaker for Groot Constantia. “To receive a good rating, one therefore needs to produce good quality wine over a wide spectrum and passage of time. This aggregate win means that Groot Constantia won this award based on consistent performance over 100 competitions over a period of 10 years.”
